Zaloopin, Aleksander
Alexander Zaloopin (b. 1969, Rostov-on-Don) is a trailblazing Russian singer, musician, and performance artist. Widely regarded as the first openly gay chansonnier in Russia, Zaloopin describes his work as “texts of life stories, written from the first person.” His music and persona have earned him titles such as “the father of gay chanson” and “voice of a generation” in Russian media [2].
