Vladislav Shapovalov is a prominent research-based artist and filmmaker, currently residing and working between Moscow and Milan. Artistic Career
Shapovalov’s artistic journey began as a member of the Radek Community, an art group he was part of from 1999 to 2007. His work often involves rethinking the implications of visual representation and cultural diplomacy, particularly in relation to Soviet history.
One of his notable projects is “Image Diplomacy,” which examines the strategies of Soviet cultural diplomacy through various archival materials. This project culminated in a film titled “Diplomacy of Image,” which juxtaposes Soviet and American cultural strategies during the Cold War[2][3].
