History
In the Netherlands, from 1947 until the end of the 1950s, a semi-annual fashion week was held under the name Amsterdam Fashion Week, organized by the Dutch Ladies’ Confectionery Industry. After the collapse of the Dutch clothing industry, this has been stopped. The first edition in the current form was created in 2004 with three catwalk shows. Since then, the emphasis has not been on ready-made clothing but on the promotion of Dutch fashion designers.
