Kurganov about Akulinitchev
Mikhail Kurganov, independent curator: “Absorbing the atmosphere of doom and decay of the Silver Age along with the chilly air, as well as the spirit of the rave culture of the ’90s, his art combines the typical undergroundness and aestheticism of the St. Petersburg art scene. Akulinitchev’s psychedelic painting is ‘ordered chaos.’ The canvases depict a world balancing in a moment between birth and decay – a metamodelist attempt at contemplating and documenting the fragile state of modernity.”
Artistic Style and Approach
Akulinitchev’s art encompasses:
- Paintings
- Objects
- Installations
